When you'd love a pair of those velvety Prada mules, but the price tag may keep at bay. Let's see what we get....Prada's are flat, come in a rich, and beautiful midnight blue velvet with a substantial (in thickness) grosgrain ribbon. Prada mules have an all-leather construction, the lining is leather, the sole is too. And of course they come to you at a pretty price tag of $695, so if you are not in for breaking the bank today, there is always a high street choice. Zara's have a kitten heel. They are also velvet, but not as rich and are black. The bow is larger, so it does make a bigger statement. Plus the added little bit of height may just be what you are looking for. The construction is all polyurethane. The price of $69 is way more attractive.
Unfortunately, at this point, you won't be able to buy either of the mules at their respective stores. But don't fret, there are so many second-hand online retailers (such as TheRealReal, or Poshmark, or Tragesy) where you may be able to score the Prada mules for $200, and Zara for $90 with a watchful eye and a little bit of patience.
So is it a splurge or a save?
Interesting thing about sizing, I own both, Prada's are size 39, but Zara's are 38, this just goes to show that you should buy the shoe that fits correctly, and not just a size.
And course, no matter the shoe, blisters, friction and sensitive feet still happen. So protect them with Solewells footpads.
